Grand Lobo del Mar is one of the larger hotels on Santa Cruz with 37 rooms.  It is in a great location around the mid-way point along Charles Darwin Avenue and set back towards the sea. Quite a few rooms do have ocean views from private balconies.  It's a bit of a whimsical hotel in that there's a giant bas-relief tortoise above the courtyard swimming pool across from a formal dining room and the hotel's internet cafe for guests.
