Galapagos Hotels

galapagoshotels

We hand-picked hotels using such criteria as  location, how eco-friendly management policies are and especially: "Would I want to stay here?" for our recommended list.  Our recommended choices offer the best value and are not the most expensive nor the least expensive. Except for Santa Cruz, our recommended choices are all waterfront.

Our 'best value' picks are:

Galapagos Suites on Santa Cruz for comfort, great service and location. $$$

Wittmer Lodge on Floreana.  The history...the location. $$

Casa del Sol on Isabela.  Location and comfort.  Beach front room without the price tag. $$

Casablanca on San Cristobal.  Location and comfort. Artist owner has decorated this seafront inn so charm just oozes. $$

Hotel Upgrades as well as more economical choices are also available. Please note that for either value reasons or hotel management policies, there are some hotels we do not work with.

  • $$$$ offers you a selection of the poshest lodges in the Galapagos Islands. These rooms will be very comfortable and offer high end amenities. Prices are $200 and up. (Note: The Royal Palm is the only 5-Star hotel in the Galapagos. Rooms begin at $375 which is still less than some rooms in Puerto Ayora.)
  • $$$ offers you a selection of oceanfront lodges with all modern amenities in the Galapagos Islands. These rooms will have oceanview, air conditioning, private baths with hot water, internet and may or may not have tv. Prices are $100 - $200.
  • $$ offers you a selection of very comfortable Galapagos Islands with modern amenities, though not usually on the seafront.  This category will have air conditioning, private baths with hot water, but perhaps not cable TV or internet. Prices are $50 - $100.
  • $ offers you a selection of basic Galapagos Islands. These rooms will be in secure hotels that probably are not oceanfront, but are comfortable and clean, have private baths with hot water and air conditioning. Prices are up to $50.
